[Verb ない-stem] + ずじまい

結局、彼には会わずじまいだった。

Kekkyoku, kare ni wa awazu jimai datta.

In the end, I never got to meet him.

買ったのに、使わずじまいになった。

Katta noni, tsukawazu jimai ni natta.

Even though I bought it, I ended up never using it.

する → せずじまい.
