Expresses making an effort or decision to do something regularly.

[Verb dictionary form/ない-form] + ようにする

毎日運動するようにしています。

Mainichi undou suru you ni shite imasu.

I make sure to exercise every day.

遅刻しないようにします。

Chikoku shinai you ni shimasu.

I will make sure not to be late.

Don't confuse with ～ようになる (natural change). ～ようにする shows conscious effort.
