Formal expression indicating what is expected of someone in a role.

[Noun] + たるもの

教師たるもの、模範を示すべきだ。

Kyoushi taru mono, mohan wo shimesu beki da.

As a teacher, one should set an example.

社会人たるもの、時間を守るべきだ。

Shakaijin taru mono, jikan wo mamoru beki da.

Being a working adult, one should be punctual.

Very formal, used for expectations.

～んばかりに

as if to, as though about to

～ならいざ知らず

~ might be one thing, but; leaving ~ aside

～てやまない

earnestly wish/hope, never stop ~ing
