Sanpo gatera, kaimono ni iku.

I'll go shopping while taking a walk.

挨拶がてら、様子を見に行く。

Aisatsu gatera, yousu wo mi ni iku.

I'll go check the situation on the occasion of greeting.

Formal/literary. Both actions done together.
